Projects / Voynich manuscript
A book whose reading is still in question.
An illustrated manuscript in an unidentified script.

The question behind Voynich manuscript
Yale’s Beinecke Library holds the manuscript as MS 408. Its author is unknown, and its script has no accepted reading. Yale notes that cryptographic approaches have not deciphered the text, while leaving open whether it is encoded at all. A convincing proposal would need to explain more than one suggestive passage and survive independent checks.
