A book cipher / The approach
Book-key search
Can a bounded search recover a known key?
The method
Fix one synthetic message, its known answer, and a small source-text list. Search candidate passages under a fixed budget. Compare the candidate with the held-back answer and verify that it reproduces the message.
What this can establish
Success on a known-answer fixture would test the method. It would not solve a historical cipher or establish that a fluent reading is correct.
Budget and stopping rule
The example allows $15.00 per run and stops when the candidate list is exhausted or the limit is reached. The homepage’s $60.00 test represents four such runs; the $40.00 shown toward it is illustrative.
The record below demonstrates how stages, costs and checks will be presented. No research job is started by opening it.
Funding is not open
This is an example. No money is collected.
